JAKARTA: The Indonesian National Army (TNI) thwarted the efforts of four men from Lombok in the West Nusa Tenggara province to enter and work in Malaysia illegally recently.

They were arrested by the military’s Strategic Intelligence Agency in Kampung Balai Karangan in the district of Sekayam, Sanggau, West Kalimantan province, as a result of public tip-offs on May 18.

According to TNI, the four did not have valid travel documents and wanted to work at a chicken farm in Serian, Sarawak.

They were invited by a fellow villager who was already in Malaysia and paid 6.7 million rupiah or RM2,038 each.

The agency also seized a multi-purpose vehicle and arrested its driver. All five men have been handed over to the Entikong police for further action. – BERNAMA
