MARUDI: A team of firemen from Marudi fire station successfully removed a 10-foot-long king cobra from a house in Kampung Baru here last night.
According to the Fire and Rescue department spokesperson, Awangku Mohd Hazmin Awang Zainal, one of the house’s residents spotted the reptile in the kitchen area.
The resident immediately secured the kitchen door and sought assistance from the fire station.
Upon receiving the alert at 10.36 pm, a team of firemen promptly responded to the scene.
Within 30 minutes, they successfully and safely removed the venomous snake. The king cobra was later released back into its natural habitat.
