PUTRAJAYA: The Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Ministry (KPDN) has assured that there will be an adequate supply of sugar leading up to the celebration of Aidiladha at the end of June.
Its deputy minister, Fuziah Salleh said the ministry has instructed the country’s two largest refineries, namely Central Sugar Refinery Sdn Bhd (CSR) and MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd (MSM), to continue producing coarse and fine sugar as usual to be distributed to wholesalers.
Both refineries have been directed to maintain their regular sugar production, with CSR producing 24,000 metric tonnes and MSM producing 18,000 metric tonnes, respectively.
