PUTRAJAYA: Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir expressed his appreciation for the official stance of the French Government, as communicated by the Minister for European and Foreign Affairs of France, regarding their unwavering support for Malaysia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity based on internationally recognized borders.
In a statement on Saturday (Jun 3), Zambry stated that this endorsement serves as a strong response to any attempts to challenge or deny Malaysia’s sovereignty.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement published on their website, highlighted the remarks made by French Minister for European and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna, during her bilateral meeting with Zambry in Paris.
Colonna explicitly acknowledged and recognized Malaysia’s full sovereignty, emphasizing the importance of respecting internationally recognized borders.
Zambry’s inaugural visit to France in early June aimed at fostering closer bilateral ties and exploring new avenues for comprehensive collaboration.
