SIBU: The body of 55-year-old Lila Majenun Medan, who was drowned in Batang Igan River was found on Sunday by the villagers.
According to a statement on Sunday, the state Fire and Rescue Department’s (Bomba) operation centre (PGO) received emergency report at 3.01pm.
Seven Sungai Merah Bomba personnel immediately went to the location after being informed on the discovery of the victim’s body.
After successfully pulling out the victim’s body from the river, the remains was brought to a nearby longhouse.
The remains then took by the police for further investigation.
