BETONG: Nearly 2,000 participants comprising cultural troupes of various contingents and the general public adorned in their respective ethnic traditional attire took part in the Betong Division-level Gawai Parade here this morning.
The parade started at the Betong Sports Complex at around 7.45am and will continue to proceed to the town area of Betong.
The parade covered a distance of 1.8km, will last for about three hours.
Also joining the parade were Deputy Premier and Bukit Saban assemblyman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development and Layar assemblyman Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, and Betong MP Richard Rabu.
