SELANGAU: The public is being advised to avoid vandalising and trespassing on Jalan Selangau to prevent unwanted incidents.
Tamin assemblyman, Christopher Gira Sambang, said that some drivers continue to take shortcuts and open unused lanes.
“This confuses other drivers and can cause accidents. I recommend that road users follow the signboards provided by the Pan Borneo contractor and the Public Works Department (PWD),” he said.
He said this when speaking to reporters after officiating at the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) Ngabang Gawai 2023 programme at Rumah Selat, Jalan Jandah Selangau on Friday.
Gira also hoped that road users will obey the speed limit and not endanger others’ lives.
“Regarding stolen signboards or safety lights, I advise and urge road users and local residents not to participate in such activities as they inconvenience other drivers.
“I am hopeful that the Pan Borneo Road will be fully completed by the end of this year,” he added.
