KUCHING: A group of 20 students from Swinburne University of Technology Australia paid a visit to Sarawak Minister for Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah here on Tuesday (June 13).
The students, currently pursuing Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education, and Bachelor of Film and Television degrees, are on a study trip titled “Documenting Art and Culture: Storytelling in Kuching, Sarawak”.
A press release stated that the students would be presenting their project on June 17 at Telang Usan Hotel.
During the visit, the students briefed Fatimah on their project presentation, and in turn, she discussed topics such as access and equality in education, as well as unity in diversity in Sarawak with the students.
“The students also had the opportunity to savour local cuisine, including Sarawak Laksa and Sarawak Kek Lapis, among others.”
The study tour, “Documenting Art and Culture: Storytelling in Kuching, Sarawak”, is an international programme that involves Australian university students from various disciplines.
The students collaborate with community partners to develop educational resources, including videos, interview series, learning materials, and social media content, to foster community engagement with arts, culture, and history.
