The Health Ministry has reported a decline in both infant and maternal mortality rates in Malaysia.
Since the country’s independence, there has been a substantial decrease in infant mortality, plummeting from 75.5 deaths per 1,000 births to a mere 6.1 in 2021.
Similarly, the number of maternal deaths has shown a significant decline, dropping from 210 deaths per 100,000 births to only 24.9 in 2020, as revealed by Health Minister Dr. Zaliha Mustafa.
