Knowing that some institutions are willing to support us financially even before we graduate boosts our confidence and motivates us to excel in our studies,” said Anwar, a final-year nursing student who recently attended career talks and engagements programme.
The programme, organised by the Student Development Unit (Career, Employability, and Alumni) under the Deputy Dean’s Office (Student Affairs), has garnered significant support from the nursing department and faculty.
“It is vital for nursing students to gain exposure and insights into the industry. These talks provide a platform for students to connect with professionals and learn about the diverse opportunities available in nursing,” said the head of Department of Nursing Dayang Zuraina Abang Kashim.
Meanwhile the institutions that participated in the career talks went the extra mile to showcase the benefits they offer to attract nursing students. Competitive salaries, comprehensive accommodation arrangements, special allowances, meal programs, and yearly bonuses were among the enticing offers extended to students.
