ASAJAYA: The distribution of sacrificial meat should not be politicised because it is intended to help those in need, including single mothers.
Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said that the distribution of sacrificial meat to the less fortunate is an Islamic practice, and not based on one’s status as a voter.
“The recipient of the sacrificial meat has been identified by the community leader in each village, ensuring it reaches the intended individuals,” he said.
He said this when officiating at the Sacrificial Meat Distribution Ceremony at the Asajaya District Office here today.
Abdul Karim, who is also the Asajaya assemblyman, urged those responsible for the distribution to ensure that the meat reaches the targeted group.
Earlier, a total of 80 needy people from Asajaya constituency received packets of the sacrificial meat.
This year, a total of 20 cows were sacrificed for the Asajaya area, benefiting a total of 524 individuals in need through the distribution of sacrificial meat.
