ASAJAYA: Sarawakians are advised to take advantage of all the opportunities given by the government in an effort to improve living standards while not being completely dependent on assistance.
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Rubiah Wang said the people also needed to play a role in efforts towards achieving the government’s wishes in terms of development progress.
“If the community is active in grabbing the opportunities given, it can certainly help development and mobilise economic growth thus contributing to the stability of the country.
“The government, especially with the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is always looking for ways to develop and prosper the state,” she said.
She said this during the distribution of Sacrificial Meat Ceremony at the Asajaya District Office yesterday.
During the ceremony, a total of 80 asnaf or needy from Asajaya area received the distribution of sacrificial meat.
