MIRI: A woman was caught red handed for shoplifting at a supermarket in Riam on Monday. In the 5pm incident, the shoplifter aged 30, had stuffed the stolen goods into her handbag. According to a source, the woman was stopped by a security guard who then brought the suspect to the Miri Central Police Station for further action.
Found in the handbag were two shirts, two pants and two packets of meat with an estimated loss of RM220.
“The suspect is detained for further investigation under Section 380 of the Penal Code for theft in a building,” the source added.
