LIMBANG: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan recently handed out additional grants for Minor Rural Projects (MRP) to those who applied last year but hadn’t received them yet.

Awang Tengah said that he had to ask Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for more funds because his ministry’s allocation had already been used up.

He said this at the Limbang District MRP 2022 Additional Grant handing over ceremony.

He also encouraged local leaders and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to apply for grants to support their village activities and development.

However, he reminded them that not all applications would be approved because they have to be prioritized.

“That’s why the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) and NGOs must use the grants wisely. They should ensure that the funds are used for the benefit of the people in the village,” he explained.
