AmBank approves RM130 million green financing for Arica

KUCHING: AmBank Group has given Persada Mentari Sdn Bhd (PMSB) a RM130 million loan for their development project called Arica @Andaman Island.

According to the press release, this funding is considered “green financing” because it supports environmentally friendly initiatives.

The CEO of AmBank Group, Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir, expressed his satisfaction with supporting PMSB’s green financing efforts. He believed that this partnership can make a real difference by positively impacting the environment and creating a better future for future generations.

While executive chairman of Eastern & Oriental Berhad (E&O), Datuk Tee Eng Ho, said that Arica is their second serviced residence project, following the successful completion of The Meg.

Tee said Arica has been designed to meet Green Building Certification standards and has received the GreenRE Platinum Provisional Certification for residential projects from Malaysia’s Real Estate and Housing Developers Association (REHDA).

The green financing facility provided by AmBank is a testament to E&O’s commitment to sustainable development and adopting green building technology for construction quality and environmental sustainability.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
