SRI AMAN: The youth are encouraged to take part in the political field to help in the development of the rural areas.

In stating this, Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang said their involvement could help in improving the socioeconomics of the local community.

“When entering the field of politics, politicians need to provide the best possible service to the community and should not seek their own interests,” he reminded.

He said this when speaking at the Thanksgiving Ceremony here recently.

During the same ceremony, Mong also announced funds of RM70,000 under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) for the construction of a 18-door longhouse here.

Aside from that, he also announced allocations of RM50,000 for the construction of private houses for Rumah Igoh residents, RM7,000 to the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Rumah Igoh and RM3,000 to the Women’s Bureau.
