SARIKEI: The Ministry of Health (MoH) has pledged to prioritise the establishment of health clinics in Kampung Selalang, which currently lacks such a facility, and to upgrade the dilapidated Tanjung Manis health clinic.

Federal Deputy Minister of Health, Lukanisman Awang Sauni stated that MoH will work closely with Kuala Rajang assemblyman Datuk Len Talif Salleh and Tanjong Manis MP Yusuf Abdul Wahab to ensure the implementation of all discussed matters and address the healthcare needs of the people in the region.

He urged Yusuf to raise these issues in Parliament, emphasising that the MoH will take necessary actions once they receive official proposals.

“We will bring these proposals to the ministerial level and include them in the priority list. I’ve asked the MP to voice their desire to obtain health clinics in the Selalang area.

“Throughout my visit of more than three days, our focus has been on providing attention to the construction of clinics in areas that still do not have any health clinics, and this is included in the proposal that will be brought to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) Committee,” Lukanisman explained during his recent work visit to health clinics in Tanjong Manis. He was accompanied by Len and Yusuf.

He also inspected several other health clinics, including those in Kampung Rajang, Kampung Belawai, and the proposed construction site of the clinic in Kampung Selalang.

Meanwhile, Len expressed hope that the deteriorating state of the Tanjung Manis health clinic would be addressed through improvement plans by the MoH.
