KOTA PADAWAN: About 70 participants are taking part in the 722 Sarawak Day expedition in conjunction with the 60th Sarawak Independence Day celebration.
Organised by Mercedes Benz Car Fans Club, the expedition began in Kota Padawan and is currently heading to Serian.
The expedition will then continue its destination to Sibu, then to Bintulu, Mukah and Kapit before heading back to Kuching on July 23.
Mercedes Benz Car Fans Club chairman Jacky Chai Chaun Wei said the expedition hopes to enhance racial harmony and the spirit of patriotism spirit.
“We also want to further promote the spirit of unity among Sarawakians regardless of who they are,” he said when met by reporters after Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Tan Kai flagged off the expedition here today.
