KUCHING: Jerawi Seman and Nur Syafiqah Sulaiman emerged as champions in the Qari and Qariah categories, respectively, during the highly anticipated Asajaya District Level Quran Recitation Competition.
The prestigious event, held on July 24 and 25, captivated audiences as participants showcased their exceptional recitation skills and deep spiritual connection with the Quran.
Jerawi Seman’s resonant voice and Nur Syafiqah Sulaiman’s heartfelt recitations left a profound impact on the judges and spectators alike, earning them well-deserved accolades. Each reciter received a coveted trophy and a cash prize of RM500.
The competition featured 24 talented Qari and Qariah contestants, all demonstrating their mastery of Quranic verses.
Beyond celebrating the participants’ abilities, the competition served as a platform to foster unity and camaraderie among local residents.
The closing ceremony was attended by Sarawak Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development (Infrastructure Development) and Sadong Jaya assemblyman, Ir Aidel Lariwoo.
“This celebration of faith and talent stands as a testament to the community’s commitment to preserving their cultural heritage while striving for excellence in the pursuit of spiritual growth,” he said.
“Asajaya’s Quran Recitation Competition is not only an annual tradition but a powerful reminder of the profound significance the Quran holds in the lives of the people, reinforcing their shared commitment to strengthening the spiritual fabric of the community,” he added.
