KUCHING: Police personnel from Kuching Central Station have been assigned to monitor the Kuching Waterfront in view of the incident of dead pigeons in the area.

Meanwhile, Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) in a statement, advised members of the public to not touch the carcasses as the cause of death remains unknown.

“Staff from Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) were at the scene at 9 am Tuesday to collect the specimens for further investigation.

“DBKU has also installed safety tapes so that the public would not enter the area,” it said.

Earlier, members of the public were shocked to discover numerous lifeless pigeons along the Kuching Waterfront on Tuesday morning. It was discovered that the carcasses were mostly on the grassy area next to the pavement. Many other pigeons in the area were noticed to be unwell.
