KUCHING: The “Meet & Greet” session with the actors and producers of “Sumpahan Jerunei” at Plaza Merdeka yesterday received a positive response from the attending audience.
This film, which has been shown in cinemas in Malaysia since July 27, explores the horror and historical aspects of the Melanau people in Sarawak.
Its producer, Datin Dr Wendy Wong, said she was very satisfied with the reception of Sarawakians regarding the film.
“We are very happy with the acceptance and support from the audience and the Sarawak community about this film.
“It is a matter of pride for us even though there are negative comments from some other viewers,” she said.
She said this after the Meet & Greet session with the audience at Plaza Merdeka here yesterday afternoon.
Wong, who was accompanied by her business partner Datuk Nancie Foo, also urged the public to watch the film in order to appreciate the story presented.
“Sumpahan Jerunei” produced by Produksi Seni 2020 Sdn Bhd features a cast of great actors such as Bront Palarae, Uqasha Senrose, Amerul Affendi, Syafie Naswip, Daiyan Trisha, Tony Eusoff, Ruminah Sidek, Yuyun Hikmah and many more.
For information, the Sumpahan Jerunei movie won trophies at the Florence Film Awards, Italy and the Paris Film Awards, thus gaining international recognition.
Also present among the actors of “Sumpahan Jerunei” Meet & Greet session were Bront Palarae and Amerul Affendi.
