KUCHING: Sarawak is expected to receive USD 100 million worth of investment from South Korean company Dongjin Semichem Co Ltd.
The company, headed by its vice chairman Joonkyu Lee held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister who is also Minister of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at Wisma Sumber Alam yesterday to finalise their proposed factory project in Samalaju Industrial Park (SIP).
Once completed, the factory will become their third foaming agent production plant after their plant in South Korea and Indonesia and will provide jobs to over 700 locals.
Lee during the meeting said the products made by the factory are mainly used in the
manufacturing of semi conductors, automotives and household products.
Also present at the meeting were Entrepreneur and Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) Development assistant minister Datuk Haji Naroden bin Haji Majais and Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development permanent secretary Datu Liaw Soon Eng.
