BEIJING: An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted Tonga at 1838 GMT on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said, reported Xinhua.
The epicentre, with a depth of 58 km, was initially determined to be at 15.25 degrees south latitude and 173.17 degrees west longitude.
Meanwhile, another earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted 28 km ENE of Pondaguitan, the Philippines, at 0057 GMT on Wednesday, the USGS said.
The epicentre, with a depth of 58.2 km, was initially determined to be at 6.48 degrees north latitude and 126.40 degrees east longitude. – BERNAMA-XINHUA
