MIRI: The Miri District Police Headquarters will be implementing road closures and diversions in conjunction with the Miri City Street Parade 2023 from Aug18-19.
Miri District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Alexson Naga Chabu stated that 60 contingents would take part in the parade to be attended by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
It will commence from the Miri City Council building to Miri Times Square.
Alexson added that road closures would be in effect during the parade on August 18 and 19 starting from 5 pm until the event ended. The affected roads are Jalan Marina Utama and Jalan Marina 1 in both directions.
Additionally, roads to be diverted for a U-turn are Jalan Marina 3 and Jalan Marina 5.
Alexson advised the public not to park their vehicles on the roadside to prevent traffic congestion.
He recommended those wishing to witness the parade to park their vehicles at designated parking areas in Marina, Centre Point and Miri Times Square.
