LAWAS: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said several sports and recreation facilities are now being implemented here.

“As such, it is hoped that there will be more involvement of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in jointly organising activities that benefit the people,” he said.

He said this when officiating at a 7-a-side football tournament, men’s volleyball and women’s open volleyball competition here recently.

Awang Tengah, who is also Bukit Sari assemblyman, contributed RM20,000 to the Long Debangang Football Team.

A total of 27 teams participated in the 7-a-side football event while a total of 17 men and 16 women participated in the men’s volleyball and women’s open volleyball competition respectively.

Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Ngumbang, Limbang Resident Unus Tambi, and Political Secretary to the Premier Awangku Zainal Abedin Datuk Pengiran Jawa, Lawas District officer Ladin Atok were among those present.
