KUCHING: Hope Place has stepped forward to provide essential assistance to two-year-old Muhammad Harith Iskandar Abdullah as he valiantly fights against a liver disease.
Harith was diagnosed with the illness at just six months old. Despite his condition causing swollen organs and underweight stature, he remains an active and affectionate toddler, engaging in play and frolic like any typical two-year-old.
Nur Mashitah, his mother, shared that despite the challenges, Harith finds solace in music. Whenever he hears music playing, he joyfully breaks into dance.
Harith’s parents, both young, find themselves in a challenging situation. His father, Muhammad Zulhisyam, earns a daily wage as a construction worker, while his mother, Nur Mashitah, is a homemaker. Currently residing with Harith’s grandparents in Batu Kawah, Harith’s grandfather, a working technician, supports them financially.
With an income below the minimum wage threshold, Harith’s parents struggle to afford the specialised milk supplements crucial for his condition. Harith had previously received one-time assistance from Baitulmal.
Hope Place has stepped in to provide consistent support by supplying the required milk supplement and children’s diapers.
