KUCHING: A social worker from Sarawak General Hospital has sought assistance from Hope Place for a 14-year-old boy, who is facing multiple disabilities.
Mohamad Hazniq Senyorita has been diagnosed with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy since birth, in addition to chronic kidney disease and intellectual disability.
His physical disability affects his lower body, making walking difficult, and he can only take steps with assistance. His speech is also limited, and he relies on diapers for his daily needs.
“Despite his challenges, Hazniq remains positive and cheerful. His father, Senyorita, has stage renal failure and requires dialysis three times a week, along with insulin.
“The family depends on Hazniq’s second elder brother’s income, as his eldest brother is a fisherman and resides in a village,” according to a press release.
The family is currently residing in Kuching, staying at a relative’s house. Hazniq’s mother and Senyorita receive financial aid, with Senyorita receiving RM450 from social welfare and Hazniq receiving RM150 from the Community Based Rehabilitation.
To support the family, Hope Place provides children’s diapers and basic food aid.
