KUCHING: A self-accident that occurred at Jalan Datuk Haji Daud in Matang has resulted in the loss of one life today (Aug 19).
According to a statement from the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received a distress call regarding the incident at 3.45am and promptly deployed a team of firefighters from Petra Jaya station.
Upon arrival, the operations commander reported that the victim was found trapped and unconscious in a Toyota Vios car.
However, the public had managed to extricate the victim prior to the arrival of the Bomba team.
The victim has been confirmed dead by the medical officer at the scene, and the body has been handed over to the police for further action.
