KUCHING: A teenager was ordered to undergo a six-month peace bond by the Magistrate’s Court here, today for punching his classmate in the face causing bad bruises and pain to the head.

The 15-year-old pleaded guilty to one charge under Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) before Magistrate Mason Jaro Lenya Barayan.

Therefore, the court ordered the teenager to be released on a bond of RM500 with his father as surety.

Based on the facts of the case, the teenager committed the crime in a dorm at a boarding secondary, at about 3.15 pm, on Aug 18.

According to the facts of the case, during the incident, the victim was repeatedly punched in the head and face by the accused.

Further investigations revealed that the fight broke out because they were making fun of each other’s father’s names.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered bruises on his left eye and pain on his head.

A police report was then made by the victim for further action and investigation.

Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang prosecuted the case while the accused was unrepresented by a legal counsel.
