SIBU: Brooke Drive Neighbourhood Committee under the Ministry of National Unity will hold free health screening at Xin Fu Yuan Church in Brooke Drive here from 8am to 11.30am on Thursday (Aug 31).
Committee chairlady Melinda Wong Kwong Hung said, the event is open to the public.
The health screening will include pap smear and high risk human Papillomavirus (HPV) DNA, blood sugar, BMI (Body Mass Index), blood pressure, dental, ear and registration for mammogram appointments.
For those going for blood sugar test, she advised them to fast 10 hours beforehand but can drink plain water.
The Social Security Organisation (Socso), Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Welfare Department (registration of Kenyalang Gold Card, Welfare assistance etc), Sarawak Rental Assistance Scheme (SRAS) will put up mobile counters at the event.
“Medical doctors, dentists, pharmacists, audiologist, medical assistants and government officials will be present to cater to the required service of the attendants.
Wong welcomes all interested to bring along their identity card (IC), saying, “Together we strive towards a healthy society and a strong nation!”
