KUCHING: The fifth Malaysia Urban Forum 2023 (MUF2023) is set to take place in Kuching.
URBANICE Malaysia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT), will organise the five-day forum at the State Library and the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre (HEEC) from November 4 to 8.
Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications, Datuk Abdul Rahman Junaidi, said that the conference will focus on the theme ‘Catalysing Transformative Action for Sustainable and Resilient Townships’.
“One of the main focuses of this conference is the dialogue session involving Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, along with renowned panellists from both local and abroad. They will discuss the urban sustainability agenda as a catalyst for the new economic sector.
“This initiative aims to attract investors and stakeholders, promoting effective city management by spotlighting resilient communities and cities in preparation for future challenges,” he said during the MUF2023 press conference at the Waterfront Hotel on Friday.
The discussions are expected to draw participation from over 300 attendees.
MUF2023 will officially begin on November 7, with Abang Johari leading the opening ceremony.
Local Government Development Minister, Nga Kor Ming, will also be present.
