Downpour triggers soil erosion in Kampung Riih Mawang

SERIAN: A downpour on Wednesday (Sept 6) led to soil erosion behind two houses in Kampung Riih Mawang here.
Fortunately, no injuries or structural damages were reported in the incident that occurred at 10.12am.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) responded promptly to an emergency call, dispatching firefighters from the Serian station to the scene.
Upon arrival, the team assessed that the erosion had affected an area of 15 square feet and could pose a risk of recurrence during heavy rainfall.
Residents were advised to remain vigilant and promptly notify the authorities in the event of another landslide.
Once the safety of the area was confirmed, the Bomba team returned to their station.
