KUCHING: People from all walks of life paid their last respects to the late Datuk Sri Ambrose Blikau Enturan at the St Joseph’s Cathedral here today.
The coffin of the late Blikau, accompanied by family members, arrived at 9.45 am.
The funeral service which began at 10 am saw congregants paying their last respects to Blikau, and offering messages of sympathy and condolences to the family.
The service was conducted by Reverend Father Mark Bonchol who shared his experiences when he met Blikau on numerous occasions at functions when the latter was the executive director at Hornbill Skyways Sdn Bhd at the time. Father Mark was a private secretary to the then Federal Minister of Agriculture Tan Sri Mohd Effendi Norwawi.
“He was a very kind hearted and generous man and served well in various capacities as a YB and as an assistant minister.
“He served the state, the people, and he is being rewarded by Christ; he has now finished his race,” he told the congregants this morning.
As soon as the funeral service ended around 11 am, congregants then left for the burial at Nirvana Memorial Park in Bau.
Blikau was laid to rest at 12.05 pm witnessed by 300 close friends and family members.
