SIBU: A RM4 million expansion and upgrading of the Sarawak Central Chiang Huang Clan Association (SCCHCA) building here has been completed.
Its honorary chairman Datuk Wong Kie Yik officiated at the building’s launching which was attended by Bawang Assan assemblyman Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh who is also SCCHCA’s honorary adviser, counterparts from all over Malaysia, Singapore and United States here Saturday.
SCCHCA chairman, Wong Ing Huong said with the completion of the expansion project, the building has become one of the beautiful landmarks in town.
He expressed his gratitude and respect to all the consultants, parents, directors and members who participated in the project.
“It is your hard work and meticulous dedication that allowed this building’s expansion and upgrading project to be successfully completed.
“I would also like to express my profound gratitude to all those who generously donated and provided financial support for the project. It is precisely because of your support that we can achieve what we have achieved today.
“The development and growth of the association cannot be separated from your full support and active participation. Today’s inauguration is also a concentrated display of our joint efforts and an important milestone for the future development of our association,” he said.
Other than renovating the building, he said other facilities included an elevator to provide members, especially the elderly, with the convenience of attending association activities, upgrade to the auditorium, offices, conference rooms, addition of a cultural hall, marriage registration room, reception room and lounge as well as enhancement of electricity supply and fire alarm equipment.
