KUCHING: The Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) plans a Sarawak roadshow to find the best path for the party’s future.
Its president Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman said they hope to complete this effort by the end of the year.
During a Muda town hall session at Indah Cafe on Saturday, he spoke about the party’s support for local decision-making in Sabah and Sarawak.
“Muda lets Sabah and Sarawak decide what’s best for them,” he said.
“As the leader of Muda, I need to hear from our members in these states. Together, we’ll decide the way ahead,” he told the media.
Syed Saddiq, who is also the Muar MP, said they’ll visit every part of Sarawak to get this understanding.
He added, “I want Muda Sarawak and us to move ahead as one big family.”
Speaking about the Malaysia Day event at Stadium Perpaduan in Petra Jaya, Syed Saddiq said he sees Sarawak as a second home and confirmed his attendance at the evening’s celebration.
“I came here because I missed it,” he admitted.
“This visit is personal for me. I’ve told my friends from all parties, including Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), that I wanted to be here for Malaysia Day. Sarawak shows us how unity works,”
