KUCHING: Political analyst, Datuk Peter Minos, on Saturday drew comparisons between Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) today and in the 1970s, noting that it is now very united, strong, very well led with solid ideas and strategies to develop Sarawak.

“Today PBB heard the party’s vision, ways and tactics of improving Sarawak from now to 2030 from the party’s president at the party’s special convention here and I heard it all as I was there.

“From now on it is all new for Sarawak through PBB and Gabungan Parti Sarawak with a new exciting economy of new technologies in hydrogen and green economy, new modern skills, the circular economy of waste-to-energy (WTE), new ways of doing things and many more,” he said in a statement.

He explained that the changes are logical because the world has changed, highly technological, facing global warming and in need of new expertise and skills with fresh ideas and ways of doing things.

Minos elaborated that the reason why PBB is able to face the new world is because it has a leader who has vision, ideas and ways of getting things done.

“All Sarawakians can see that. When Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg came in, in 2017, he really led, in politics, in defending Sarawak rights, in bettering the Sarawak economy and unifying Gabungan Parti Sarawak and the people,” he said.

Confident of his ability and success, Abang Johari was asked by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to give a talk to the federal cabinet on the new economy and new ways of doing things, which Minos described as the highest form of respect and honour for Abang Johari.

“We are blessed and very happy. It is not easy to have found a man who really leads in the best way possible.

“Sarawak’s future is assured, the people will be more united and more confident of their future and their lives (and) the economy will definitely soar,” Minos added.

He also pointed out that Sarawak will be more respected by those in West Malaysia and in Sabah.

“I must say under the Premier we are on top of all things and we are happy and grateful,” he said.
