SIBU: Twenty Lions Clubs pooled their resources to make a joint contribution of basic necessities to three impoverished families in Bintangor recently.
The clubs are from Lions District 308-A2 Region 2 & 3 namely Lions Club of Bintangor, Sarikei, Sibu Mandarin, Sibu Seduan, Sibu Central, Sibu Pahlawan, Sibu Berjaya, Sibu City, Sibu Jaya, Sibu Sungai Merah, Sibu Bawang Assan, Sibu Nangka, Sibu Queensway, Sibu Lanang, Sibu Dudong, Sibu Rejang, Sibu Loving Care, Song, Kapit and Mukah.
President of Lions Club of Bintangor Ling Mee Ngiik who represented the clubs handed over the contribution to the needy families, witnessed by Lions District 308-A2 Governor Kapitan Ronny Hiew.
Hiew also presented cash donations to children from these families.
Others who donated include President of Sibu Pahlawan Kong Tze Ling along with Past District Governor Mary Law, 2nd Vice District Governor Dato Winnie Lee, 1st Vice District Governor Annie Ho and Hiew’s wife Chee Suk Fun.
