KUCHING: Ministry of Youth, Sport and Entrepreneur Development Sarawak (MYSED) staff are encouraged to maintain their commitment to integrity in their daily duties, as emphasised by its minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
By adhering to this principle, he added, MYSED can set a high standard of integrity and serve as a role model for other government ministries.
He made these remarks during his opening speech at the Innovative and Creative Circle (ICC) MYSED Convention Award Night, held in conjunction with National Integrity Day at Waterfront Hotel here on Tuesday (Sept 26).
“Generally, National Integrity Day is celebrated every year as a continuous initiative to cultivate integrity and instil pure values among members of society at all levels.
“In reality, efforts to cultivate values and a culture of integrity as a way of life for the people cannot be implemented seasonally or at specific times only.
“This is because the drastic increase in various moral wrongdoings such as corruption, misappropriation, and abuse of power in our country demonstrates the worrying issue of integrity deficit among the people at this time, which cannot be allowed to continue eroding the moral and ethical values that should serve as the bulwark of personal integrity,” he said.
In a related development, the Ready Steady Go team from the MYSED Miri Division secured the championship in the (ICC) MYSED Convention Award, winning a cash prize of RM1,500 and a trophy for their project called Mysed Line Maker.
This innovation enables the process of marking a football field to be easily managed and more efficient. It also makes it easier for users to create field markings that are neater, faster, and organised.
The project transforms the field from a potentially confusing and unprofessional space into a clear, safe, and organised playing surface.
It contributes to a better playing experience, smoother gameplay, adherence to regulations, and an overall more engaging and functional environment for everyone involved in the world of football.
