SIBU: Lions Clubs International District 308-A2 Region 2 & 3 jointly organised a “New Member Orientation” course at a leading hotel here recently.
The event was attended by over 90 new members and existing members.
Immediate Past District Governor Kapitan Connie Loh Ming Hua was given the honour to officiate at the opening ceremony as well as later presented the certificates of attendance to the participants.
According to the organising committee in a press release, the event provided an opportunity for new members from Sibu, Bintangor, and Sarikei to participate.
The course featured two speakers who covered the founding history of Lions International, the organisational structure of Lions International, and the roles of new members and sponsoring Lions members.
The speakers for the course were District Chairperson, Datuk Jimmy Tie and Past President of Lions Club of Sibu Lanang, Jacky Tan Ming Thai.
Also present were Past District Governor Datuk Betty Wong Yieng, Chairperson for District Region 2 Dixon Chiu and Chairperson for District Region 3 Vincent Lau.
