BELAGA: The Punan National Association (PNA) team emerged as the champions after beating Uma Aging Long Da’ah (UALD) 3-0 goal in the final Belaga Christmas Cup 2018 football competition.
Assistant Minister of Water Supply, Datuk Liwan Lagang said the competition held was held to forge good relationship among the youths.
“I see that all of you play with full of sportsmanship. We really praise your enthusiasm, thank you, and congratulations,” he said when officiating at the closing ceremony of the Belaga Christmas Cup competition yesterday.
The Belaga Assemblyman hoped the competition would enhance ties among youths in the district.
“Next year we will hold a Sumbangsih Cup where the champions from Belaga will compete against the champions from Murum in Belaga town,” he said.
Liwan thanked the referees who were specially invited from Bintulu to officiate the matches of the three-day competition.
Also present were political secretary to the Chief Minister, Michael Mujah Lihan, Belaga Action Community (BAC) chairman, Temenggong Ajang Sirek, pemanca Unak Akah, penghulu Awang Robat, kapitan Teo Hee Tong, MU Lato Juman, MU Hubat Mering, MU Aging Bato and Kapit Division Football Association president, Damian Naocol.
