KOTA SAMARAHAN: Kuching City South Council (MBKS) Mayor, Datuk Wee Hong Seng, recently celebrated the Mooncake Festival with children at The Salvation Army Community Complex here, showcasing his steadfast support for community welfare.

Despite its recent relocation, Wee remained true to his word, joining the children for the festivities and emphasising his deep dedication to their well-being.

The children enjoyed a hearty BBQ buffet and later indulged in delicious ice cream, filling the evening with delight.

“It’s important for our children to receive a good education and develop strong values. By studying hard, they pave the way to becoming responsible citizens. My wish is for this celebration to leave lasting, happy memories for them,” said Wee.

He said that such initiatives reinforce his dedication to helping those in need and nurturing positive values in the youth.

“We must continue to make positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate and ensure that the spirit of unity and compassion thrives within the community,” he said.

The Mooncake Festival was made even more memorable with the support from May Loo Hun Ing of Kuching Love Book Association, 38 Yayasan Amal Cinta, and Big Vegan.

Their generous contributions, including a grand 12-inch mooncake added sparkle to the celebration, amplifying the joy experienced by the children there.
