KUCHING: The Malaysian Productivity Corporation’s (MPC) Productivity Day aims to encourage innovation and creativity among civil servants.
Sarawak MPC board member Jefri Ahmad Tambi said the programme serves as a catalyst for instilling a culture of creativity and innovation through various activity platforms, ensuring that civil servants become more competitive.
“Moreover, it heightens awareness of the significance of innovation and creativity in public service delivery,” he said during the opening ceremony of MPC Productivity Day, held in conjunction with Sarawak’s Public Service Innovation Month 2023 today.
“Improving productivity enhances the competitiveness of an organisation.
“In 2021, Sarawak’s productivity increased by 1.6 per cent, amounting to RM108,167, compared to the national average of RM95,628,” he added.
During the programme, the Productivity Champion Certificate was awarded to nine officers and representatives from both government and private agencies.
Around 100 participants from the public sector, private sector, and higher education institutions gathered for the programme themed ‘Innovation and Creativity: Embracing the New Economy.’
In addition, the event showcased various activities, such as group cheering sessions for the productivity hunt, Zumba, lectures on mental health and productivity, as well as exhibitions from different agencies and sales booths.
