MIRI: Sarawak Oil Palms (SOP) recently organised a telematch event simultaneously in Taniku, Tinbarap, and Telabit estates to commemorate SOP’s 55th year.

This event united employees from 10 estates and one mill, emphasising healthy living, teamwork, and fostering stronger ties within the SOP community.

Throughout this year, monthly events featuring various activities will ensure participants from every age group and fitness level can join in, displaying their talents and skills.

“This 55th-anniversary telematch is packed with excitement. It emphasises our commitment to a healthy lifestyle and teamwork. Moreover, it’s an avenue to honour our employees for their invaluable contributions to SOP,” said Plantation Controller Selvarajah A/L Lurdusamy, who officiated at the Tinbarap Region Telematch at the Tinbarap 5 estate.

The day was filled with a range of activities: from mini-games, dance and singing sessions, tug of war, and sports contests to award ceremonies and an enticing lucky draw.

In addition to the thrilling activities, special employee awards were given in various roles, such as Best Harvesters, Best Lorry Drivers, and Best Mill Operators, among others. These dedicated individuals have played a crucial role in SOP’s continued growth.
