SRI AMAN: A septuagenarian died after the Proton Saga he was driving collided with a Honda Jazz near the U-turn junction at Nanga Klassen on the Sri Aman – Betong road earlier this morning.

The State Fire and Rescue Operations Centre (Bomba) said in a statement that they received an emergency call about the accident at 6.58 am today and dispatched a team from the Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.

Upon arrival, the team found that the victim, aged 71, was trapped inside the Proton Saga.

The victim had sustained a serious injury to the back of his head and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

The deceased was identified as Jeffry Dujin Bansing.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the police for further action.

Additionally, it was reported that the 72-year-old passenger in the Proton Saga and the 32-year-old driver of the Honda Jazz sustained injuries. Both were rushed to the hospital by members of the public before Bomba’s arrival.
