KUCHING: A 30-year-old driver had a lucky escape when his car suddenly caught fire at the Samajaya traffic light junction around 12.20 pm today.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported that he was driving from Kota Samarahan to Kuching when the incident happened.
A team from the Tabuan Jaya fire station was swiftly dispatched to the scene and used water from the fire truck to extinguish the flames.
Bomba confirmed that the car, a compact hatchback, was completely destroyed.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the firemen concluded their operation by 12.49 pm.
