SIMUNJAN: Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak branch plays a crucial role in supporting and driving the development of modern agricultural industries.

Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris said that UiTM Sarawak serves as a consultant and executor, bringing expertise and knowledge to make a positive impact on the community.

“Through exposure to modern agriculture and innovation, we can enhance agricultural yields, advance agricultural technology, and improve the quality of agricultural products.

“This is not only beneficial but will also help increase the overall community income,” he said when officiating at the community empowerment programme for coastal villages on modern agricultural systems held at Simunjan District Office recently.

He added that the programme simultaneously took place in three areas namely Simunjan, Gedong and Sebuyau

The one-day programme saw about 130 participants involved and five briefing sessions conducted namely introduction to modern agriculture, exploration of successful farmers’ stories, modern agriculture and entrepreneurship, modern agriculture and innovation and programme implementation and participant feedback.
