MIRI: Eight teenagers, aged from 13 to 17, have been summoned to the Central Police Station (CPS) here to give statements about a bullying incident that was captured on video and has since gone viral.

The 19-second video has prompted the police to launch an investigation into the matter.

Miri OCPD, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, confirmed that the police were alerted to the incident on Sunday at 11.33 am, following a report from Taman Tunku.

“We’re closely looking into the matter, and the investigation is currently in progress,” he said.

The public is urged not to jump to conclusions based on the video.

The incident is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which pertains to causing intentional harm.
