The awards night was officiated by Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil. Also present was MDEC chairman Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh.

MDEC said that the MDX 2023 Awards Night was part of the successful Malaysia Digital Expo (MDX) 2023, which aims to make the country a digital hub destination in Southeast Asia, in line with the goals of the Ekonomi Madani framework.

The country’s digital industry exports have grown exponentially in recent years, with its exports surpassing RM20.2 billion in the first half of 2022, and this is already 81 per cent of 2021’s total performance, it said.

Malaysia is attracting significant digital opportunities from both domestic and foreign companies, with over RM37.4 billion secured in the digital sector this year as of August, it added. – BERNAMA
