MIRI: A 25-year-old local man is currently place under remand for seven days until Nov 13 to facilitate police investigation over his suspected involvement in drugs trafficking here.

Miri Police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the suspect was detained by a team of Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) personnel from the Sarawak Police headquarters (IPK) on Nov 6, during a raid conducted inside an entertainment outlet here.

The raid was carried out at around 9.30 pm.

“Upon further inspection on the suspect, police found illegal substances believed to be ecstacy (935.10g) and ketamine (8.40g) worth at around RM22,339.30,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
