SIBU: SJKC Ung Nang, Bukit Lan, held its 111th anniversary of founding and Teacher’s Day celebration at a hotel here on yesterday (Nov 9).

The double celebration was graced by the school’s honorary permanent advisor, Temenggong Datuk Vincent Lau Lee Ming, as guest of honour.

In his address, Lau highlighted that 111 years ago, a group of visionary people who aspired to develop Chinese education founded the primary school which has cultivated countless excellent talents and have became successful in society.

In addition to teaching students with all their strength, he said teachers can also strive to continuously pursue progress in their own majors, strive for excellence, promote the development of students whole-person character, strive to build an excellent school, and cultivate generations of social talents and nation elites.

“At the same time, we would also like to thank all school board of directors and alumni for their deep affection and strong support for their alma mater. It is your support and dedication that provides a solid backing for the growth and development of the school.
